Lets all have some Political Party Respect!

Why is it that people think it is okay to send their friends and family (of differing political parties) emails blasting their choice of political party candidates?  I am a Democrat, my close friends and family members know this, but my Republican sister, brother, and a few friends still send me emails and texts that are totally insulting to Democratic party members.  It has gotten to the point that I have blocked those people from sending me any emails or texts because quite frankly I am sick of it.  These messages you send are not likely to sway me to become a Republican -far from it!  All they accomplish is to insult me and cause me to have hard feelings towards the person who sent it to me.

If you are one of these people who sends these out to all of your friends and family members, please stop it.  Be considerate of their feelings, and respectful of their difference of opinion.  I mean, think about it.  If your sister or best friend was a vegetarian would you send her emails of meat recipes?  Would you send her texts that contained cruel jokes that make the vegetarian the butt of the jokes?  No you would not.  And if you would, then you are not a good friend or a compassionate person.


I could go on and on in great detail about my sister and brothers, wondering why they are even supporting the Republican Party when their lives are polar opposites to what the Republican Party stands for as far as abortion, less government, etc.  Example, they are all government employee's, so how does that fit in with 'less government'?  It would mean they might lose their jobs.  But I don't send them nasty emails disparaging the Republicans -because I have RESPECT!  I believe they have a right to their own opinion even if it is different from mine.  I also would not want to hurt their feelings by sending them insulting emails or texts about people who are Republican.  That is just mean.

The symbol below is not an insult to the opposing party, not a character assassination, and not making any Republicans the butt of a joke and therefore not offensive to anyone.  It is just me showing support for my choice of candidates in the 2012 election.  If I were to receive an email or text with a similar symbol with Mitt Romney's name on it from a friend or family member I would not find this offensive at all.

 Have some respect! Before you send out emails or texts that contains awful jokes or blasts the opposing political party, take a few seconds to think about who you are sending it to.  You obviously feel you have the right to like your political party, don't you think your friend or family member has the same right?  These kinds of emails or texts are not going to sway the recipient to see your view, they are just going to cause hard feelings.  So have some respect.

That's it, done venting.  Now I am off to check my emails...

I'm Back! Did you miss me?

I am back! Did you miss me?  Ha ha ha!  I cannot believe it is June already and I have not posted in about 6 months!  2012 has been quite a year for me so far.  Some good, some not so good, but I finally feel that things are starting to slow down.  For example, I actually have time to write this post.  There have been at least a hundred potential posts in my head that I wanted to share but I just did not have time or the mental focus to sit down and type them out.  I wont go into great detail about the craziness that I have been going through because I don't want to bring you down, nor do I feel like reliving it all anyway.  So lets just say I feel like I have gone through the narrows and I'm squeezing out on the other side.

After closing my baby store at the end of 2011 I felt a huge loss and disappointment.  Then moving to Arizona (from Colorado) created lots of travel and extra work for us making that change.  Add on the fact that I am neck-deep in Peri-menopause and its a wonder I didn't give up months ago.  But I am beginning to feel whole again and I even feel a bit more liberated.  You may notice some changes around here in my future posts.  Now that I am no longer a retail owner who has to be so careful not to say anything that might conflict with one of my customers views or opinions, I feel I can finally speak my mind on lots of issues that in the past I just held my tongue.  I now feel that I have the right to share my opinions just like everyone else.  Great year for an election huh? LOL 

Seriously though, I do have strong opinions on several subjects and I plan to share those opinions with my readers, for better or for worse.  I am respectful of other peoples opinions and I just want to finally join the conversations!  So expect to get to know the real Nanny Anna...well, the real Anna anyway :-)
